After a decade-long break from painting, Trevor Reeves has returned to the art form with a more focused and refined dedication to his craft. Now a father of two children, he more easily incorporates his emotionality into his work. This is most plainly seen in his vivid tree portraits, which show abstract portrayals of lively forests. With an exaggerated sense of catharsis and tension expressed through their unconventional colors and twisted trunks, these trees bare their imagined souls through Trevor’s brushwork and serve as the centerpieces of his nature-inspired paintings, woodcuts, and linocuts.

Trevor is easily inspired by the majesty of the sunrises and sunsets he witnesses while biking and driving down Missouri’s backroads. These natural scenes serve as the vision for much of his landscape work.
